Sewage system in Santa Cruz
Dear Rosa ...you can forward this email if apropriate ...I have contacted my friend from guelf university...The one that i spoke with before ...His name is Claude Weil and he may have a few weeks to design an organic retrofit on the existing plant ...I am waiting for his reply.Claude Weil is a wetlands sewage Treatment systems designer and has worked in various places in the world on wetlands sewege treatment design .I am thinking about a mix of wetland system using water hyacinth which could be harvested to produce compost for soil building and also gas for cooking, and bacteria impregnated stones that clear the water ,kill bacteria ,and destroy mosquito larva ..i have access to the stones which are manufactured in japan ..... .In the past ,Claude had indicated that he would be willing to design something for santa cruz .and that he would like to work with me .i know that his fee would be much less than the muni was quoted for doing a systems design ,and claude has offered to help with oversite of constuction ,also to make follow up visits .My hope is that what we design for santa cruz could then be used in other locations around the lake.....Anyways ,Im waiting for his reply ..again ill mention that part of the project could be to extend the plant right down to the lake by paving the cannal with eco stones ..(this is on private land )i also would think that the eco stones would bring even more benifit to water quality if they were integrated with the sewage plant ... . (hybred system)..previosly i had thought to install them in the cannal leading from the plant into the lake....I have already spoken to the Alcalde about the possabiliy of of a designer ..... they want someone good.... i will let you know if i hear back from my freind at Quelph university ...Robert
